Screw you, New Jersey Lou!

Another solid reason to hate the New Jersey Devils. Lou Lamoriello started the legendary Scott Clemmensen in goal Sunday - in place of Martin Brodeur - virtually handing the New York Islanders a 3-2 shootout victory in the regular season finale. The Islanders claimed the final playoff spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference with the win, knocking the Maple Leafs out of the postseason berth they claimed with a 6-5 win over Montreal the previous evening.

There's an unwritten rule in sports that you don't give your best players the night off when the game has serious implications for your opponents - or another team. Apparently goofball Lou doesn't put much stock in that rule. Then again, with all those Olympic gold medals he's won (sarcasm off), I guess his judgement can never be called into question. Mind you, a person probably should never put much faith in a team called Devils - especially on Easter.

A Sportsnet report said that it may have had something to do with the Cam Jansson thing, but that would be pure speculation. To his credit Ferguson said it wasn't the final game that did them in, but rather some inconsistent play in the middle of the season which is probably true. I think all the Isles earned was the right to play four more games.

True enough, either team should be easy pickings for Buffalo.

And really, the Leafs have no one to blame but themselves. Inconsistent goaltending, a leaky defence and terrible specialty teams did this team in. It wouldn't break my heart if Ferguson gets shown the door as a result.

Ouch Ouch Ouch.... Tigers 7 Pats 2. They won't even get their entrance fee back. Poor Perkins after the game. He tried to put some make-up on that pig but it just doesn't wash. No competing for 60 mins, more intensity, played in spurts, etc were his comments. Not everyone giving all.

This runs a hell of a lot deeper like out managed, out coached, out scouted and soon to be out of the playoffs.

When people are trying to coax a 16 yr old from the sick bay and another 16 yr old was your best player of the nite, man you got big problems. No leadership from the vets. Festerling 0 goals, Ross 0 goals, Deck 0 goals. I never liked our 20 yr olds all season and still don't. The autopsy will come soon enough!!
