Au revoir, Canadians!

The Toronto Maple Leafs eliminated the Montreal Canadians from playoff contention with a 6-5 win tonight. The Leafs stormed out to a 3-1 lead, then fell behind 5-3 before storming back. More ups and downs than the "Man Show" girls on the trampoline!

Now, the Leafs need New Jersey to beat the Islanders tomorrow to earn the final playoff berth in the East. Let's face it, the Leafs post-season will be brief (they would face Buffalo in the first round), but at least they'll be there! Hopefully. If the Devils do their part. I can't believe I'll be cheering for the New Jersey Devils. That's about as likely as Jacob's mother joining MENSA. But, I digress.

It seems like the Leafs are so much better than the Islanders, but if the Isles win today the Leafs will be golfing. There is some question as to which lineup the Devils will use. The Buds were pretty fortunate to get two 5 on 3's in a row. Almost like Medicine Hat officiating.

Pats vs Tigers is probably playing out the way everyone thought. The Pats were brutal last night and have been 1-6 in their last seven trips. They were out classed in every area perhaps with the exception of goal, where Rowatt played fairly well. They looked slow, couldn't handle the forecheck, turned over pucks, didn't compete on the wall, took too many penalties cause they couldn't get any offense going, got badly outplayed and outshot. The score is what they usually lose by when playing those guys. The Pats may squeak out one home game but this is done in 5 games based on last nights messages.

Where the hell was Kyle Ross, Kyle Deck and Festerling? They are the 20 yr old leaders and were invisible most of the night, but alas so was most everyone else. All the hype about winning one first round in 9 years must have got to them. It seems most everyone on the team is satisfied with that tiny accomplishment.

They had all week to get ready. They knew exactly what style of game to play (same as Red Deer) to have the best chance of success against Medicine Hat. And they still soiled the linen. Not quite sure how to explain that one.

You hit it right on the head...they had a week to get ready and simply were not... It's the coaching staff's job to have them ready...they say the easiest game to get on the road is the first one and well another 3 goal loss...they absolutely have to win tomorrow..otherwise...very short series..if they were going to lose they should have punished the Tigers but that didn't happen..the game looked like they were hoping to not lose too bad...They have to show some guts and grit next game and just win....
