There's a very, very interesting name on the roster of the University of Regina Rams for this weekend's spring camp. Running back Adrian Charles is scheduled to attend.
You may remember Charles as a star running back with the Saskatoon Hilltops a couple of years ago. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in October of 2008. The charges related to a shooting in Pickering, Ontario (Charles is from Whitby, Ontario) earlier that year.
Those charges were eventually stayed, although Charles is due in court in Saskatoon this summer on drug-related charges.
When he was not facing legal issues, Charles was the premier running back in the Canadian junior ranks, and would certainly be a huge boost to the Rams' running game.
