Friday thoughts

Thank goodness this week is over! Here's what remains in the cupboard upstairs:

  • What a bizarre week. I woke up Monday in Regina, Tuesday and Wednesday in Ontario, and back in Regina Thursday. I'm tired.
  • I'm pleased to report that Mom still makes darn tasty potato pancakes.
  • I took some time to check out the new workplace today. I think I'll like it.
  • Anyone else frustrated by the way the Regina Pats season is winding down?
  • If the Pats make the playoffs, they're first round cannon fodder.
  • Fans are intrigued by the Saskatchewan Roughriders' signing of import running back Justin Beaver. Really though, can you ever have too many beavers around?
  • I honestly don't see how the Arizona Cardinals can hope to knock off Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. I've love it if they could, though.
  • It's off to Rouleau in the morning for Jacob's hockey tournament. Good times.
  • A couple co-workers and I have snared prime seats for an NBA game in Houston Tuesday night. Rockets vs the Bulls.
  • I just realized this will be my first NBA regular season game. Cool.
  • SportZone returns with all-new episodes in two weeks. Can't you just feel the excitement?
  • Join our SportZone group on Facebook. Don't cost ya nothin'!

Hi Pete - hope all is well with you. I haven't posted in a while but ya I am very disappointed with the Pats year and yes they will be Calgary's speed bump if they even make it.
Very very poor young talent. Not close to the likes of Schenn, Glennie, Calvert from last year.

Weal is the only bright spot. Ketlo could have been but the coaching staff was trying to hold onto their jobs so this kid got ruined this year. Hood shows a litle promise but thats it.

Favreau(1st Rd pick)has no goals, Mulder maybe two goals..disasterous. Miller on D was bust with Pym being pretty close behind. Slobozian is the only plus D-man in that young group. Perrault has shown he should have been here all along. They gave up on Dort who was one of the best players during camp and pre season. I see some of the scouts had to have their "Boys" on the team, even if it meant cutting better players.

Prokop wasn't part of MJ's plans but we gave them a top goalie for a guy who can't skate. Mitchell works hard but not smart and his stock has steadily dropped. Derkatch has admitted he wasn't ready to coach but Parker hired him anyway (control issue). Now you see him patronizing and commiserating with the fans..BS.

This organizations is failing top on down. What community owned or privately owned team (other than Family) would have retained BP's services for 15 years in a row without producing something remotely resembing a champion? There should be significant changes at the end of this year but there won't be. We seen and heard this several years in the past but nothing changes. If they believe they have top four talent, and they do!..then it has to be coaching but they think they have good coaching as well...BS..just another damned frustrating year under these clowns. Hit rewind..press play!
