Fight night tonight?

Everyone's expecting sparks, and punches, to fly when the Regina Pats and Kootenay Ice get together tonight at the Brandt Centre. Bad blood still remains from the last time these teams met in Regina, with the Ice stealing a 4-3 overtime decision. That game got ugly after Pats blueliner Nick Ross crushed Kootenay's John Negrin with a huge (and legal) open-ice hit.

Of course, you know what happens when everyone expects fireworks and fisticuffs - the game rarely lives up the advance billing. However, the Pats still have plenty of motivation, as they're looking to snap a three game losing skid tonight. That losing streak has effectively eliminated them from the "race" for top spot in the WHL's East Division. Should be a beauty tonight - see you there!

Not a bad game. It was 2 points but if they played those guys five times they would probably be lucky to get one win. For a good portion of the game they were outskated and outworked. They were also outshot in every period. Tommy T stood on his head, butt etc to get them the win.
It looked like the Pats had a little trouble with Kootney's speed and forecheck. The defense also was slow moving the puck. Like I said it was 2 points, but really it was not a dominating type game by the Pats. Actually they may have played better in their first loss here, until Byblow ruined the game.
The boys just have to keep plugging along!
