2. A profile of the Regina Speedskating Club. Guests: Bill Christ (Coach), Marsha Hudey & Kali Christ (skaters).
3. A mid-term report on athletics at the University of Regina. Guest: Dick White (U of R Director of Recreation & Athletics).
4. A visit from the play-by-play voice of the Riders and the Regina Pats. Guest: Rod Pedersen (Harvard Broadcasting Sports Director).

Kitchener seems to have a hell of a team.
The power in the WHL seems to be out west....again! Vancouver has quietly gone about business of becoming the best team in the Dub and by seasons end, they will be. It's a Don Hay tradition.
I think the Pats should start looking at the Giants, how they scout etc etc, if they ever hope to elevate to that elite strata...
Kitchener's very strong. The Knights (who know a thing or two about building a team) have basically given up on beating the Rangers this year.
I look at three stats; losses, winning pct, golas F/A. The Rangers have 4 losses, 838 pct and are nearly plus 80. That is big time impressive. The Sault and Windsor are the only real competition at this point but not really. Looks like a potential Mem Cup winner. Don Hay out in Vancouver will always have something to say though, he always does!
Hi Pete - I would firstly like to pass on my condolences to the Lorne Davis family. He was a local icon and I had the pleasure to meet him over the years. He was a true blue Pat.
I watched your show on Wednesday and it was very good like it usually is. The same can not be said for the Pats TV panel last night. Talk about taking literary licence and fudging facts. Absent was their poor winning percentage, poor goals for/againts, poor discipline, 14 losses, and having played 4 more games than anyone else. A mere oversight I am sure. Then to suggest maybe fans don't understand hockey. Give me a freaken break.
In all due respect to Hodges, the Pats rightly don't have a goalie in the top fifteen, they don't have one in the top 20. Rowatt is 21 in the league. This was gloss over if I ever seen one. Not one of those guys "got it" when analyzing why fans are not happy with this years edition of the Pats. The don't seem to think we have a right to have a team that is 10 points ahead of its closest rival. The 1 to 8 dogfight mentality is now in vogue. We are Ok to be just one of 8 decent teams.
Four years ago when we endured a horrible season we were told in four years time we would be a "POWERHOUSE". I have the quotes to prove it. Like the the old rock song says "time has come today" and still no powerhouse??? While this team is in 2nd place, it benefited from a soft early schedule where they beat P.A. almost on a nightly basis. They wouldn't be in 2nd if they hadn't played four more games than everyone else. Their second half won't be any easier contrary to Pedersen's opinion. They have three tough central swings against the likes of Calgary, Kootney and Lethbridge. I'd be willing to wager on the outcome of those.
The current management has had 13-14 years to build the powerhouse, still no powerhouse? All we hear from them is it's cyclical in junior hockey. All the while the Brandon's, Vancovers's, Calgary's don't miss a beat. Even Kelowna is on its way back after a single year being down. The other good organizations just reload and keep shooting. We keep saying it's cyclical. The only problem is our cycle is entrenched mediocrity, and lets face it, we are a mediocre team. Sounds like the Riders of the past seven years. We all know what they had to do!
Our talent pool is not even close to Brandon,s etc. Can you imagine Schenn and Glennie next year, and Evander Kane in Vancouver. While Brandon's rookies will likely both be 30 goal men this year, our 06 draft is still playing midget. I have no doubt our scouting has again let us down. You don't get lucky all the time and find an Eberle in the 7th round. Folks don't think next year looks very promising either with the losses we will have, and they are likely right.
The Pats have to make several moves and inject some life into this team. Ya you may have to give up some young talent but lets be honest, not a lot of our young talent pans out (remember the Fab five). You have to live for the moment in junior hockey and that applies to the Pats in a big way. The fans will not be happy if this management comes back and says it "rebuilding time again"...you know the cyclical thing! Maybe the Pats ought to give us stupid fans a little credit. A lot of us know a thing or two about hockey. Maybe the esteemed hockey panel should call it like it is. Somebody has to send the message!
That's an easy one. The show (Pats TV) is produced by the Pats, so I imagine that makes the panel members extremely reluctant to be critical. Mind you, the fans do see what's going on. Some reactions might be a little extreme, but the paying customers do have a right to expect more this year.
For what it's worth, I don't believe this team is a powerhouse. Not even close.
I wish I had gotten to know Lorne Davis better than exchanging hellos at the rink. By all accounts he was an amazing man. My condolences to his family as well.
