The Regina Pats had a two game winning steak snapped with a 2-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades, the WHL's worst road team, at the Brandt Centre last night. The game was broadcast on Access 7, but yours truly wasn't invited to take part. In the words of the great philosopher: whatever.
The game featured a line brawl, which would seem to indicate the Saskatoon-Regina rivalry still has some life left in it.

Hope you had a good christmas and I wish you a happy new year. Merkley was Ok on the broadcast but I wish they had a color man who actually kew something. I thought perhaps you had maybe gotten a little too expensive...lol
As for the Pats, they are the same old, same old, that they were before the break. A skin of your teeth win against a club missing half it's starting lineup(Brandon). An undeserved shootout win and a regulation loss to S'toon, a bottom feeder team nearly everyone beats when on the road. They only had two road wins all year..it made you want to hold your nose. The Pats have scored 5 goals in their last 3 games. Many players very unmotivated, poor efforts, average tending from Rowatt, afraid to go to the net, no secondary scoring, soft defense. Ya that pretty much covers it....and still most of the media in this town are giving Parker and the Pats a free ride, all while wearing their rose colored glasses which are now firmly secured with duct tape!! Same old, same old. Take care buddy.
And a Happy New Year to you!
Seriously, I don't disagree with your assessment. There's a "feel good" atmosphere around town, thanks to the bustling economy and the Riders' terrific season. Maybe that's why the Pats are getting a relatively easy ride.
And I certainly hope my on-air fee wasn't bringing the organization to it's knees. Imagine the guilt.
/sarcasm off
I forgot one point.
I guess having a hold (however tenuous) on first place in the division probably has something to do with it too, to be fair. Now, that doesn't exactly make them world beaters (it's a pretty weak division again this year), but it does cover up a few flaws.
