Pats love home cooking

The Regina Pats ran their home-ice winning streak to six games, with an impressive 5-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors. Kyle Ross and Garrett Festerling paced the Regina attack with two points each, including Ross' 20th goal of the season. That's the second straight year the Regina native has hit the goal plateau. The win also avenges a 4-3 shootout loss to the Warriors Friday night in Moose Jaw.

Next up for the Pats is a Wednesday night trip to Prince Albert, then the regular season wraps up with a home-and-home set with the Brandon Wheat Kings. I'm liking the way the Pats are playing heading into the post-season. I certainly like their chances of advancing past the first round of the playoffs. After that is where things get really interesting...

I too like the way the Pats are playing (at home). They still at this late juncture can't put a full 60 minutes together on the road. That is worrisome to be sure.

After losing to the Pats the Broncos have beat Medicine Hat, Brandon and P.A., the last two on the road. The Pats are going to have their hands full in the playoffs and will probably have to win all of their home games to advance. Kyle Moir was on the WHL This Week show. He said he would try and teal a round or two for Swift. Rowatt will have to be better than he's been all year.

The Pats are a better team, they just have to prove it in the playoffs. They will have to get the PP going soon. Perkins said they are having trouble getting to the net on PP's because of the box. Why don't they plant Elder in front of the net ala Ryan Smyth. If Moir can't see the puck, he won't stop it. A couple of road wins this week is what is really needed, here's hoping.........

Totally agree with ya, the homecooking meals are good, but the problem with the Pats are they don't like someone else cooking there meals. If you can't win on the road boys, you ain't getting pass round one or two at best.

Herd that the Pat Canadians scoring star and "AAA" Co-MVP, Matt Stueby, signed with the Pats and will be in the line-up against the Raiders. Good luck Matt, looks like you will get your chance to show something before the boys get into the paly-offs.

A little advice to the Pats, give this Strueby a chance to score, power play and some good linemates even strength would give this kid the confidence he needs!!!

Matt Strueby is an awfully nice young man. And he certainly wouldn't be the first 18 year old rookie to have a solid WHL career. I know he was also looking at going the U.S. College route, so he must see an opportunity with the Pats. Let's hope it pans out - they can certainly use some additional firepower.

Matt Strueby is a nice young man, and his family are good people, and his Dad was a pretty good hockey player I am told.

He was considering UND Fighting Sioux, they wanted him to play in the SJHL for one year. I herd he signed with the Pats a couple weeks ago, and they wanted to let him fulfill his playing days with the Pat Canadians.

I think the local kid can hold his own, but to make it easier on him they should give him the chance to score immediately!!!!
