Cheers
- The 20,000 + fans who made Mosaic Stadium one noisy place during last Sunday's CFL west semi-final. The noise definitely rattled the visiting B.C. Lions, and likely helped the Riders advance to the west final in Calgary.
- The Deli Llama restaurant. This week's special (soup and sandwich for $10) is unbelievable. You won't be disappointed!
- The J man. Congrats to the boy on a fantastic report card. Straight A's, with the exception of a B+ in phys ed. Nothing wrong with that academic performance!

- The leather-lunged buttheads at Mosaic Stadium (and elsewhere) who can't be bothered to remove their hats for the national anthem, or keep their mouths shut during the anthem or the moment of silence for our veterans. Here's a newsflash - you are neither funny nor original. How about a nice, refreshing cup of STFU?
- Sears. Worst customer service in the history of retailing. Seriously. And then, at the end of a pointless conversation with a call centre lackey in some god-forsaken outpost, said lackey actually asks if I'm interested in a Sears Mastercard! You've got to be kidding me.
- The Overhead Door Store. My garage door has been wonky ever since a power outage on Monday. It's been about 36 hours since I called their service department, and still no return call. That's not acceptable.

Go J-man! Good at sports, great marks - a well-rounded young man. Good job!
Re: Sears - ever since they moved the catalogue shopping/call centre to the Philippines, I refuse to order through them. I know people who lost their jobs because of the move. I'll still shop in the stores, because there are still people there who need their jobs.
Now, my own Cheer and Jeer:
Cheer: Beer Bros again. Not only do they have great servers and friendly staff, but they also make gluten-free fish and chips. It's the only place I've been able to have fish and chips since June. And now they even have a gluten-free dessert - the panna cotta. Wonderful dessert. And it's the first time I've been able to order dessert out since June, too. Very happy there.
Jeer:
Bronco plumbing. This is the last straw, and I will not deal with them again. When the weather gets nicer, I will also start renting my water heater elsewhere, too.
I made an appointment for furnace maintenance, over a week in advance. It was one whole hour of labour, plus about $20 or so for parts. No big deal... except he charged me the 'emergency' charge for labour - about $40 more per hour than regular - just because there was SNOW.
This wasn't the big storm in October, and this wasn't yesterday's storm. It was the milder snowfall last week. And I took 2 hours off work to get home for this *scheduled* appointment, and drove through the same snow. I didn't get stuck or anything, and I have cheap summer tires on my car still. And he still had to charge me the extra labour charge?
Yeah, I'm peeved. It's been over a week, and my blood pressure still rises over this.
Thanks for the place to vent, Pete!
