- Did everyone in gov't take an EDO today? You could swing a dead cat in here today and not even hit a bureaucrat!
- My latest term gig runs out at the end of March. Better polish up that resume over the holidays, I suppose.
- Given recent events, I'd say landing a new gig has become a priority.
- Mats Sundin is a Vancouver Canuck. First Sundin refuses to waive his no trade clause last year, so the Leafs can't get anything for him. Then he takes half of this season to pick a new team. Swedish drama queen?
- Or, given his Swedish heritage, more like Dancing Queen?
- I almost wonder if the Regina Pats wouldn't be better off dealing their most marketable veterans at the WHL trade deadline, in an attempt to stock up for next year. Or are they really only a player or two away from competing with Vancouver and Calgary?
- Now that Jason Clermont is a Saskatchewan Roughrider, he won't be making his annual appearance on SportZone. It's a Rider/Access thing.
- Oakland Raiders fans now know what it was like to cheer for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 80's. Just waiting for the crazy old man to die...
- Wow, I really need to rekindle my Christmas spirit! Thankfully, a weekend with the munchkin will do just that. So, on that note...

Someone pointed me to this position at SaskPower:

Is this the sort of thing you're looking for? (I won't be applying -- I just got an extension where I am now.)

Oh, and:
"Or, given his Swedish heritage, more like Dancing Queen?"
Groan!

I saw that one. I thought it closed yesterday, at least according to the posting on the IABC website.
The SaskPower website says December 31st... Maybe they had to extend it because they didn't get enough applicants.

Pete - you make a good point about the Pats possibly trading some assets since it doesn't appear they are going anywhere this season, AGAIN! Even with Tuebert and Eberle they appear to be headed for the bottom four in the conference. These two do not make them an elite team. The talent drop off is bad and the young talent is no screaming hell, with the exception of Weal.
If they truly believe those two won't be back next year, then yes it is time to deal, preferably for top round draft picks. The obvious fly in the ointment is if either or both come back, the Pats want to ensure they are heavily compensated. The next option appears to be get rid of some of the mediocre young talent (d-men mostly) and maybe a couple of iffy forwards, to bring in what they need. Then maybe if they get hot they can make some playoff noise. Not having even 20 wins at this point and with most games played puts them in a hole. Too many goals against and a number of players not buying in. They got some problems.
